Privacy Policy

This notice explains how the Yan Zhou campaign website collects, uses, protects and discloses personal information when you contact the campaign, request a lawn sign, volunteer or use a campaign form.

Last reviewed: August 8, 2026

Information we collect

We collect information that you choose to provide through campaign forms, such as your name, reply email address, phone number, address, availability, support preferences and message. Contribution forms may request information needed for election-law record keeping. The website may also collect basic technical and usage data through WordPress.com, Jetpack and Google Analytics.

Why we use this information

  • Reply to your question or request.
  • Coordinate volunteers, canvassing and lawn-sign delivery.
  • Administer campaign contributions and required records.
  • Operate, secure and improve the website.

The campaign does not sell or rent personal information.

Cookies and analytics

WordPress.com, Jetpack, Crowdsignal and Google Analytics may use cookies or similar technologies for essential site functions, security and aggregate traffic measurement. The anonymous Parent Pulse poll is delivered by Crowdsignal; it may use a browser cookie to limit repeat voting for one week and receives technical information needed to display and protect the poll. The poll does not ask for your name or contact details. Newsletter subscriptions are processed by WordPress.com and Jetpack, and subscribers confirm their request by email. You can restrict cookies through your browser settings, although some features may not work as intended.

Retention and security

Personal information is kept only as long as reasonably needed for the purpose described above, campaign administration, security or a legal record-keeping requirement. Contribution records may need to be retained for the period required by election law. Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used, but no online system can guarantee absolute security.

Your choices

You may ask to access or correct your information, withdraw consent for future campaign contact, or request deletion where the campaign is not required to keep the information. Use the General Contact Questionnaire and select or describe your privacy request. For general guidance, see the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada’s meaningful consent guidelines.

2026 campaign forms and voter information

Information submitted through campaign forms is used only for the purpose shown on the form, such as answering a question, coordinating an invitation, arranging a volunteer activity, processing a lawn-sign request or reviewing an endorsement. Form information is not sold and is not used for unrelated commercial marketing.

  • Campaign form submissions are reviewed by authorized campaign personnel and service providers only as needed to operate the website and campaign.
  • Information is retained only as long as reasonably needed for the request, campaign administration or an applicable legal obligation.
  • Official voter-list information, where lawfully obtained for campaign purposes, is handled separately from public website forms and is not uploaded to public pages or advertising audiences.
  • Newsletter subscribers may unsubscribe using the link included in each email.
  • Do not send student records, health records, Individual Education Plans or other confidential school information through a campaign form.

Children’s privacy

Children under 13 should not submit personal information through campaign forms without the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian.
